Chairman Wapda said that all necessary preparations have been finalized to launch the construction of Mohmand Dam within the next two weeks.
Addressing a News Conference in Islamabad Muzammil Hussain said the project is a joint venture between a chInese and a Pakistani Company.
He said that CGGC and Descon will have 70 and 30 percent shares respectively.
The Chairman said that all legal, financial and technical impediments in the project have been addressed.
Responding to a question, Muzammil Hussain said people of the tribal areas have provided their land for the project in the National Interest.
He pointed out that Wapda completed four important projects last year including Neelum-Jehlum Hydro Power, Tarbela-IV Extension, Golen Gol Hydro Power and Katchi Kanal Projects.
The Chairman further said all four units of Neelum-Jehlum Hydro Power Project are operational and are supplying cheap Electricity to the National Grid.
