ISLAMABAD: The 65th death anniversity of Ch. Rehmat Ali was observed on wednesday with full respect. Ch. Rehmat Ali was the creator of the name “Pakistan” for a seprate homeland in South Asia.
As per details, Ch. Rehmat was one among the pioneers of Pakistan National Movement. He was born in Hoshyarpur, the district of East Punjab in November 16, 1897.
Rehmat Ali completed his education in England, obtaining MA and LLB with honors from the University of Cambrige and Dublin. In 1930, he moved to England for joining Emmanuel College, Cambrige. In 1933 he published a pamphlet “Now or Never”, coining the word Pakistan for the first time.
He rendered his great services for Pakistan in Pakistan National Movement. He died on February 12, 1951 and was buried in England.
