LAHORE : Minister of State for Water and Power has dismissed the heads of two power distribution companies due their poor performance issues.
Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) were dismissed from their posts by the Ministry of Water and Power over allegations of corruption, overbilling and defects in the electricity supply system.
Sources indicate that LESCO CEO Qaiser Zaman was replaced by Technical department General Manager (GM) Chaudhary Mohammad Anwar who was given additional charge whereas HESCO CEO Akhtar Randhawa was sacked and was replaced by Asadullah Khan as CEO.
Sources indicate that both officers were removed from their posts over poor performance. LESCO CEO Qaiser Zaman’s services were also extended from May 1 onwards.
