SAN FRANCISCO – Twitterlink Inc. has said thatit is launching a new Twitterlink Privacy Center toshowcase how the social medialink network istaking active measures to protect private data of its consumers.
The San link Francisco-basedcompany link said thenew site link “provides acentral place to keep you updated on our privacy and data protection workand aid us in being accountable to you through transparency.” The centerwill host all link kinds ofinformation about Twitterlink initiatives,announcements, new privacy products, and communication about securityincidents, the companylink said.
The site link will letusers know how Twitterlink collects and usestheir data, and will give customers more control over their privateinformation, including downloading their own data.
“Everyone on Twitterlink shouldhave meaningful controls over what data they sharelink with us and a clearunderstanding of how it’s used and when it’s shared,” Twitterlink said.
Meanwhile, Twitter link alsounveiled an updated global privacy policy that introduces some key changesscheduledlink to takeeffect on Jan. 1, 2020 link.
Under the new policy, Twitterlink is moving theaccounts of users outside of the United Stateslink and the EuropeanUnion link, whichwere previously served by Twitterlink InternationalCompany link in Irelandlink to Twitterlink Inc. in SanFrancisco link.
The shift stems from linkTwitter link need tohave greater room to test features and settings and to provide people withthe controls that meet their needs and expectations, such as theiradditional opt-in or opt-out preferences or other privacy-relatedrequirements that would be restricted by the General Data ProtectionRegulation (GDPR) widely enforced in Europelink.
Twitter said the new European privacy law does not offer enough flexibilityto it in dealing with private data of its customers.
