During the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 in Hangzhou, China, Pakistan suffered asignificant setback as Arshad Nadeem had to withdraw from the competitiondue to injury.

The renowned javelin thrower was initially scheduled to participate in thecompetition tomorrow, but now, Pakistan’s hopes of winning a medal havebeen dashed. Additionally, an MRI scan has revealed that Arshad Nadeem wasdealing with a knee injury, which is a major setback for Pakistan in thisprestigious event.

“Arshad Nadeem underwent a comprehensive MRI at a local hospital inHangzhou, revealing a chronic injury that he has been carrying,” sourcesdisclosed. Notably, the 25-year-old recently secured a silver medal in theWorld Athletics Championship in Hungary, claiming the second position inthe competition.

Arshad Nadeem, who had won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games(CWG), made his comeback after a year-long hiatus caused by an extendedinjury.

After undergoing elbow surgery, Nadeem underwent rehabilitation at the PSBCoaching Centre and resumed his training before the World AthleticsChampionship.
