Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court has issued an order for therelease of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) local leader Irfan Salim, who wasarrested under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar.
According to details, the hearing of the case of PTI’s local leader tookplace in the Peshawar High Court under the leadership of Chief JusticeJustice Mohammad Ibrahim. During the hearing, Deputy Commissioner Peshawarappeared in court, and the Chief Justice inquired why the petitioner wasarrested despite court orders.
He asked whether the DC and the police were so powerful that they did notcomply with court orders. The Deputy Commissioner informed the court thatthey were not aware of the court’s orders and that Irfan Salim was arresteddue to concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation involvingthe police.
The Chief Justice, expressing his displeasure, remarked that if courtorders are not followed, then there is no right for us to sit on the chair.The Deputy Commissioner also discarded the court orders in a basket.
The Peshawar High Court has ordered the release of PTI leader Irfan Salimwhile adjourning the case involving the Chief Secretary and the InspectorGeneral of Police.
