NEW DELHI – Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh likely to visitPakistan on PTI government invitation, Indian media Report has revealed.
Former prime minister of India Manmohan Singh will visit Pakistan andattend the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor, Indian mediareported on Thursday.
According to details, the visit of erstwhile premier is contingent onIndian government’s approval. Manmohan Singh will reach Kartarpur onNovember 9, and he has also conducted a sitting with Indian Punjab ChiefMinister Amarinder Singh in this regard.
Let it be known that Pakistan had on Monday has decided to invite ManmohanSingh on the inaugural ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor. Foreign MinisterShah Mehmood Qureshi had said that the decision to invite Singh was takenafter high-level consultation.
The minster had further stated that Sikh pilgrims will also be welcomed onthe event that will be held on the 550th birth anniversary of Baba GuruNanak.
It is to be mentioned here that Prime Minister Imran Khan will inauguratethe project on November 9, three days before the 550th birth anniversaryBaba Guru Nanank that will be celebrated on November 12.
