Twitter account of Indian PM Modi personal website hacked

NEW DELHI – The Twitter account of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’spersonal website was hacked on Thursday, the social networking siteconfirmed.

Twitter said it was aware of the activity with Modi’s website account andhas taken steps to secure it.

“We are actively investigating the situation. At this time, we are notaware of additional accounts being impacted,” a Twitter spokeswoman said inan emailed statement.

Modi’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on thetweets posted on the account @narendramodi_in.

The account, with over 2.5 million followers, is the official Twitterhandle for Modi’s personal website (www.narendramodi.in/) and the NarendraModi mobile application.
