Pakistan government allows single item import from India

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan government allows single item import from India as thelife saving drugs are being allowed from India.

The federal government on Monday allowed the import of life-savingmedicines from India in order to provide relief to patients amid bilateraltensions with New Delhi over the illegal annexation of Indian-occupiedKashmir last month.

The permission to import and export medicines to and from theHindu-majority country was granted by the Ministry of Commerce, whichissued a statutory regulatory order in this regard.

Last month, Pakistan suspended bilateral trade with neighbour India afterthe latter illegally annexed Indian occupied Kashmir by revoking thespecial constitutional autonomy of the occupied valley through apresidential order rushed through the parliament.
