KABUL – At least one US service member was killed and another wounded in anapparent insider attack in eastern Afghanistan, Resolute Support said in astatement on Monday.

“The sacrifice of our service member, who volunteered for a mission toAfghanistan to protect this country, is a tragic loss for all who knew andall who will now never known him, said the statement, quoting Afghanistancommanding General Scott Miller.

“Our duty now is to honor him, care for his family and continue ourmission,” added Miller.

The US service member is the sixth killed in Afghanistan this year.
