APHC endorse Gilani as leader of joint resistance

ISLAMABAD (APP): Illegally detained Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have told the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, that he alone will be representing the joint resistance leadership till their release from incarceration.

According to Kashmir Media Service, three leaders have been issuing protest programmes in consultation with each other for the past few months; first against Indian government’s plans of setting up separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits and retired Indian soldiers and later against civilian killings after the extrajudicial murder of mujahid commander, Burhan Wani.

Reports said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq communicated to Syed Ali Gilani from Chashmashahi sub-jail that “you can issue protest calendar on your own and we support it completely”.

“My faith right now is in complete unity. We should follow a single unified strategy,” reports said, quoting Mirwaiz’s last message to the octogenarian leader.

The Mirwaiz has also told Syed Ali Gilani that he would not talk or listen to anyone from the puppet administration if they came to meet him. “The Mirwaiz has said that `if the administration thrusts a meeting on me, I will put the condition

that I should be allowed to meet Gilani sahab and Yasin sahab and the three of us will decide on what steps to take,'” reports said.

Muhammad Yasin Malik, who has been jailed since the Intifada started after the killing of Burhan Wani, had also told Syed Ali Gilani soon after his arrest that “you lead people and I endorse your decisions”.
