ISLAMABAD – Great News for Cricket fans across Pakistan as dates for TestMatches against Sri Lanka are being finalised which are to be played inPakistan.
The revival of Test cricket in Pakistan got another boost after dates wereconfirmed for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) security delegation’s visit ofPakistan.
According to details, the delegation will assess the security situation ofthe country before giving their recommendations to SLC. The Sri Lankanboard officials will then decide whether to tour Pakistan or not.
Report further stated that the delegation is set to arrive in Pakistan fora three-day visit. They will begin their evaluation with a trip to Karachion August 7, followed by Lahore on August 8 and finally Islamabad on August9. The delegation will visit the grounds and hotels in the cities and willalso be briefed by the local security officials.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani said: “The securitydelegation will visit three cities, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, ofPakistan from August 7-9. They will assess the security situation of thecountry and give their report to Sri Lankan cricket board.”
PCB is keen on hosting a two-Test match series on home soil, in Octoberthis year, as they are confident about the improved security situation inthe country. Mani also echoed similar thoughts while expressing his viewson the security delegation’s visit.
