ISLAMABAD – A tremendous growth of over 67% in broadband connectionswitnessed during last four years that shows a consistent growth anddevelopment in IT and telecom sector.
Talking to APP, an official of NTC said, there has been an upward surge toacquire and maintain DSL connections as internet has now become a necessityas compared to a luxury during the previous years.
He said figures given do not include those additional 15,000 connectionsthat were generated by virtue of migration from Time-division multiplexing(TDM) to next-generation network (NGN). He said, the core operations oflandline telephone functions also reflected a growth rate of fivepercent.
