LAHORE – As the spasmodic rains with thunderstorm drench the provincialcapital, roads flood in heavy water and power breakdowns strike the entireLahore. At least, six deaths are feared so far, as rain continues withthunderstorm and gusty winds since night.
Intermittent torrential rainfall for past twelve hours wreaks flood likesituation. Lahore has recorded at least 252 millimeters of continuous heavyshowers in last twenty four hours. WASA has imposed an emergency as roadshave become submerged in water.
People face packed jam roads and heavy influx of traffic due to inundatedroads. All the underpasses have been closed for traffic as water hasaccumulated. To add to the misery, a breach also occurred near GPO chowkLahore.
Met office forecasts more rains for next 24 hours.
