PM Shahbaz Sharif unveils date for the next General Elections in Pakistan

*ANKARA (92 News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the generalelections in the country will be held in August or September 2023.*

In an exclusive interview with TRT World, the Prime Minister said thatpolls will be held after fifteen months. “Government is taking short-termmeasures to decease poverty, unemployment and inflation in the country. Ifpeople voted PML-N to power, his party will start long-term agenda to putthe country on path of prosperity and development.”

“Government is offering subsidy on different items to facilitatedowntrodden and marginalized segments of society, and those who are livingbelow poverty line,” he added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also stressed the need to transformPak-Turk fraternal ties into bilateral strategic economic partnership tobenefit the people of two countries. “Turkey can help Pakistan in promotionof commerce, e-commerce, and agriculture. Turkey can be an active part ofPakistan’s policy to meet its energy demand from renewable resources as ithas a vast experience in hydel power projects.”

“I have proposed the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to includeTurkey in multibillion dollar CPEC project. Turning the CPEC into atrilateral project with Pakistan, Turkey and China would be beneficial forthe region,” he said.
