Pakistani PM Imran Khan’s key statement on US troops withdrawal from Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said that the withdrawal ofNATO and US troops from Afghanistan should be a peaceful transition.

The prime minister said while addressing the concluding session of theGeneral Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of Economic CooperationOrganization (PAECO). He also said that the PAECO platform should be usedfor collective efforts to cope with the common challenges including climatechange, water crisis and poverty alleviation.

PM Imran Khan said the population of the region is 450 million and everycountry of the region can benefit from this huge population utilizing theirpotential in different sectors.

He said many countries are facing water shortage due to global warming andparliamentary integration among ECO member countries will be helpful inresolving challenges in a befitting manner.

Imran Khan said Pakistan is working on a mega project of billion treetsunami program and it will plant 10 billion trees in the country in fiveyears. He further said increasing economic cooperation and trade among themember states will lead to an economic revolution in the region.
