Afghan Refugees have become security threat for Pakistan: CJCSC

SINGAPORE – Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Zubair Mehmood Hayat has spoken about the issue of the Afghan Refugees presence in Pakistan and the associated challenge faced by Pakistan.

Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Zubair Mehmood Hayat has said that Pakistan was facing security challenges due to the presence of Afghan refugees.

He stated this while speaking at Asia Pacific Security Conference in Singapore, adding that peace could not be restored in region without settling the disputes.

“There is a need to carry out concerted efforts against terrorism,” General Zubair said, adding that Pakistan played pivotal role in weeding out terrorism.

Highlighting the importance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, he said that the CPEC would help resolve the issues laying in the region.
