*ISLAMABAD: Federal government here on Friday night removed the State Bankof Pakistan (SBP) Governor Tariq Bajwa and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)Chairman Dr Jahanzeb Khan from their posts.*
According to the sources, both SBP Governor Tariq Bajwa and FBR chairman DrJahanzeb Khan were removed in the wake of current economic crises.
It was learnt that Prime Minister Imran Khan was unhappy with the GovernorState Bank due to continuous devaluation of rupee, and with Chairman FBRdue to a stall in reforms process in the revenue board.
Sources privy to the matter told ARY News that the prime minister had alsoasked then finance minister Asad Umar to remove both the officials, but dueto the minister’s own resignation, the matter got delayed.
Asad Umar had announced on April 18 that he was stepping down from hispost as finance minister*.*
