The Pakistan Army was “absolutely not” a part of what happened today in theNational Assembly, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director GeneralMajor General Babar Iftikhar said on Sunday while speaking to a private TVchannel.
The DG ISPR’s remarks came in response to a question whether the PakistanArmy was aware of what happened during the National Assembly session calledin todaylinktovote on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“The army has nothing to do with what happened in the NA today,” Maj GenBabar Iftikhar said.
Earlier today, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri dismissedlinktheno-confidence motion submitted by the joint opposition to dislodge theprime minister as he termed it “unconstitutional” under Article 5.
