QUETTA – Gwadar link has beendeclared the new capital of South Balochistanlink, it emerged on Friday.
Gwadar link Port Authority (GPA)Chairman Naseer Khan Kashani told local media outlets that the provincialgovernment has officially made Gwadarlink capital of South Balochistanlink. He said that theauthority received an official letter from the Balochistanlink government.
Kashani further said that the provincial government started preparations toestablish a camp office on the GPA premises, where officials and stafferswould perform their duties. He said that administrative work had startedfor the last several months.
Talking to the media, GPA official Nadir Baloch said that the newinitiative would have a positive impact on the image of Gwadarlink rising as an ideal destination.
On February 23, 2017, former Balochistanlink chief minister NawabSanaullah Zehri had announced that Gwadarlink would be the winter capital ofthe province.
Gwadar link has a key importance inthe China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Government announcedplans to develop Gwadar linkas a flagship project of the CPEClink the Belt and RoadInitiative (BRI).
