Pakistan government hires services of three international tourism companies

ISLAMABAD:In a bid to promote domestic and international tourism in thecountry, the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs has hired services of threeinternational companies to identify new tourism sites in the region ofGilgit- Baltistan.

The Gilgit-Baltistan has great potential in the tourism sector and thefederal government was working on a comprehensive programme to projectvarious scenic destinations in the areas, official sources Wednesday toldAPP.

Answering a question, the sources said two economic zones would also beestablished under China Pakistan Economic Corridor to provide jobopportunities to locals for development and progress of the areas.

Work on 200 kilometer corridor in Azad Jammu Kashmir was in progress toattract tourists, they added.

To a question they said the federal government would allocate Rs 2 billionto provide best health and education facilities to people of Azad JammuKashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
