*ISLAMABAD: *Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman is inhot waters over acquisition of 600 kanals land illegally during theMusharraf era.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday stated that theanti-corruption watchdog is investigating illegal allotment of martyrs’land in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a press release, the NAB said legal action will be taken againstthe suspects involved in the case.
Earlier in the day, PTI’s Shafqat Mehmood alleged that Fazlur Rehman wasillegally allotted 600 kanals in DI Khan during Musharraf regime.
Addressing a press conference at the National Press Club (NPC), he saidthat NAB should tell that how the land allocated for the martyrs was givento the Kashmir Committee Chairman Fazalur Rehman.
“Fazlur Rehman has only used politics for personal benefits,” he had said.
The NAB had initiated the investigations in 2009-10 after taking notice ofthe media reports, the PTI leader claimed and added that it was proved thatallotments were done through illegal transactions.
“But the case was later dropped,” claimed Mehmood, asking, why the probewas stopped.
The PTI leader said that Fazlur Rehman got the seat of the KashmirCommittee chairman only to gain perks and privileges. He added that theJUI-F chief’s politics is self-centred.
