Iranian President sends a special message for PTI government in Pakistan

TEHRAN – Iran is looking forward to working closely with the newgovernment in Pakistan to further strengthen bilateral relation, saidIranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday when receiving the credentialsof the new ambassador of Pakistan Riffat Masood.

While discussing Pakistan-Iran relations with Ambassador Riffat Masood,President Rouhani highlighted the cultural, religious, historicalaffinities and commonalities between the two brotherly countries, accordingto a press release from Pakistan Embassy in Tehran received by the IslamicRepublic News Agency (IRNA).

President Rouhani stated that Iran is looking forward to working closelywith the new government in Pakistan to further strengthen bilateralrelation. He hoped that Ambassador Masood, given her experience indiplomacy and inter-state relations, would contribute positively infurthering bilateral relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Masood is confident that the close, historical ties between thegovernments and people of the two countries and the prevailing politicalwill on both sides would provide an impetus to bilateral relations thatwill also augur well for peace and stability in the region.

Ambassador Masood, after formally presenting her credentials to the IranianPresident Hassan Rouhani on Saturday, 2nd February 2019, became Pakistan’sfirst woman envoy to the Islamic Republic of Iran,

As an experienced diplomat and dedicated officer of the Foreign Service ofPakistan, she has served in several countries, including the UK, USA,France, Turkey, India and Norway. She also has a native command of Farsi.
