ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has condemned the killing of 11coal miners in Balochistan’s Machh area and asked the FC to use allresources to arrest the culprits behind the shooting incident.

“The condemnable killing of 11 innocent coal miners in Machh Balochistan isyet another cowardly inhumane act of terrorism,” Imran Khan tweetd.

“[I] Have asked the FC to use all resources to apprehend these killers &bring them to justice. The families of the victims will not be leftabandoned by the govt.”

Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari also tweeted: “Terrorists nowtarget poor coal miners in Machh Balochistan – murdering 11 & seriouslywounding 4. Indian funded terrorists in Balochistan getting more desperateas development comes to province. Socio econ empowerment & Insaf for theBaloch are how we will defeat the terrorists.”

As many as 11 coal miners were shot dead while four others were seriouslyinjured after unidentified armed men opened fire at them at the Machh coalfield in Balochistan.

According to the sources, the unidentified armed men took the coal minersto nearby mountains where they opened fire on them. It added that the coalminers were going to their work place when unidentified armed men openedfire on them.

The Levies and personnel of other law enforcement agencies and rescue teamsrushed to the place of the incident near Machh coalfield after the incidentand cordoned off the area.
