In Pakistan, on Friday, news began circulating about the appointment of a military officer to the position of Chairman NADRA, while claims were also made regarding a change in the leadership of the ISI. However, sources suggest that there is no truth to these two pieces of news.
Anchorperson Farheen Adrees tweeted that Lieutenant General Shahid Amjad has been appointed as the new DG ISI.
In the same tweet, she also claimed that Lieutenant General Noman Zakria has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
These claims were made at a time when Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Information, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, confirmed changes in the rules regarding the appointment of the Chairman NADRA. In a conversation with an anchorperson on Thursday, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister stated that this step has been taken in view of the country's security situation
