ISLAMABAD (APP): Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif Thursday said talks with India could not be fruitful in the wake of ongoing human rights violations in held Kashmir.

India was carrying out ethnic cleansing and genocide of innocent Kashmiris, who only wanted right to self-determination, he said talking to a private news channel.

He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a history of Muslim enmity. He already had carried out genocide of Muslims in Gujrat when he was chief minister, he added.

Khawaja Asif said Pakistan-India ties had become worst during the tenure of Narendra Modi. Pakistan tried to improve relations but India did not give any positive gesture, he added.

Replying to a question, he said the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had endorsed the policy of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) government on the Kashmir issue and they had given heavy mandate to the party in the last AJK general election.
