Former English cricketer Nasser Hussain has shared his perspective on Pakistan's unpredictable cricket approach in the lead-up to the 2023 ODI World Cup. He acknowledged the team's potential for both success and unexpected defeats.
During a conversation on a YouTube channel, Nasser specifically pointed out Pakistan's opening match against the Netherlands in the upcoming tournament, recognizing the possibility of Pakistan facing a potential loss against the European team.
"I believe that Pakistan is a strong tournament team. Their first match is against the Netherlands, and they could potentially lose that game. That's just the nature of Pakistan's cricket. However, they have the ability to bounce back. If you look at the last World T20, they seemed out of contention, but suddenly, they reached the final. Pakistan's style of play is mercurial, and that's what makes them so captivating to watch," Nasser stated.
Furthermore, Nasser emphasized that Pakistan could become a formidable opponent in the World Cup if they manage to achieve above-average scores against any team. "If they can post a score higher than the norm against any World Cup team, that team is likely to face significant challenges," he concluded.
