Cancer Researchers James P Allison and Tasuku Honjo win Nobel prize for medicine

American James Allison and Japanese Tasuku Honjo have won the 2018 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for discoveries leading to new approaches in harnessing the immune system to fight cancer.

According the award-giving body in Sweden, Allison and Honjo gave Nobel Prize amounting 1 million dollars on proteins studied that prevent the body and its main immune cells known as T-cells from attacking tumor cells effectively.
