Awareness walk for breast feeding held

FAISALABAD: Under the joint arrangements of District Health Authority and District Population Welfare Office, an awareness walk was held in connection with giving breast feed to the newborns from their birth to at least two years.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmad Fawad led the walk whereas Parliamentarians Latif Nazar, Fardous Rai, CEO DHA Dr. Mushtaq Sipra, DO Population Welfare Gufran Hussain Saqib, DO Health Dr. Bilal Ahmad and male and female from different walks of life also participated in the walk.
The walk started from District Council Chowk and culminated at Katchery Bazaar Chowk after passing through Khaliq Qureshi Road.

The participants of the walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed with advantages of breast feeding.
The deputy commissioner highlighted the advantages of breast feeding. He said education of married women was very important in this regard.

Parliamentarians said the ceremonies regarding awareness for breast feeding were very important and lady health visitors should go house to house to educate women. They appreciated the holding of the walk.
The CEO Health said more walks and seminars would be arranged to raise awareness among women about breast feeding.
