Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has expressed the confidence that Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project will be completed by December 2020 as per schedule.
According to official sources, the multi-billion dollars project has entered its practical phase in Pakistan.
Under the project, a 56-inch diameter 1,680km pipeline, having capacity to flow 3.2 billion cubic feet per day gas, will be laid from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan and Pakistan up to Pak-India border.
The sources said under the project, Pakistan and India will get 1.325 billion cubic feet per day gas each and Afghanistan will be provided the share of 0.5 bcfd gas.
