Mercury rises across different cities in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Temperature is on the rise in different cities of the Pakistan, with Okara topping the heat with 40 degrees Celsius while Lahore stands at 34øC on Monday.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), dry and hot weather will maintain its course in different cities in the coming days.

Temperature is likely to hit 47øC in Sindh's Dadu and Nawabshah,However weather in Karachi will remain dry and hot in coming 24 hours.

Karachi temperature will remain between 36øC to 38øC according to the

department concerned, Private TV channel reported.

Sukkur, Jacobabad and Larkana will have maximum temperature of 44øC-45øC today. Hyderabad's mercury will rise up to 44øC while that in Badin and Mirpur Khas to 43øC.

Earlier in April, two locals had lost their lives as temperature soared in Sindh's capital. The deceased belonged to Manghopir and Orangi Town areas of the metropolis.

Seven persons were affected due to hot weather last month. Two of them were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

According to an estimate nearly 1,200 people had died due to severe heat stroke last year.
