ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid said that Pakistan is making all possible efforts to counter the challenges of global warming and environmental degradation while Climate Change Authority is being established by Pakistan in this regard.
While addressing in Senate Session during question hours here at today, Climate Change Minister claimed that government is going to pass Pakistan Climate Change Act for this purpose.
All necessary measures would be taken by government to meet the challenge of climate change while short, mid-term and long-term policies are being formed by government in this regard.
He further added that national forest policy has been prepared by government with the collaboration of provinces in order to enhance forest cover in different parts of the country while Green Pakistan Project has also been launched by federal government to promote forestation in entire country.
Minister stated that Pakistan is counted among those countries which are most affected by the climate change despite of 0.8 emission of the total global emission.
