NEW DEHLHI: The Indian government on Monday once again gave it clear view saying no cricket series is to be played between the two nations even at unbiased spots for the time being.

According to Indian media reports, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj said that it seemed unlikely until Pakistan stopped cross-border terrorism and firing, a member said.

The foreign minister, outlined the government’s stance at a meeting of the consultative committee of the ministry that offered a review of relations with neighbors.

Sushma Swaraj said the high number of cross-border exchanges of fire do not set the tone for any kind of bilateral engagement.

The political turmoil has also put the Asia Cup 2018 in doubt, as a prior meeting by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) failed to decide on the fate of the tournament in India.

The current ruling party has been maintaining a hard stand on neighbors Pakistan and is not inclined to give a go-ahead for the tournament.
