National Calligraphy Competition for young calligraphers will be held in Islamabad next month.
This was announced by Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui while presiding over a meeting of officials of Heritage division in Islamabad on Monday.
The Adviser said young artists from across the country including four provinces, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will have an opportunity to take part in the contest.
He said fifteen awards have been allocated for three different categories of calligraphy. He said the competition will encourage young artists in this field.
Irfan Siddiqui said committees of senior calligraphers have been constituted to judge and select the best paintings.
He said an exhibition of selected artefacts will be held later on from 23rd to 28th of next month.
Irfan Siddiqui said this calligraphy competition is being attributed to renowned calligrapher of the sub continent Abdul Majeed Parveen Raqam.
