ISLAMABAD – A section of Ministry of Law and Justice building in Islamabad caught fire Tuesday morning, destroying several important documents.

The fire erupted at a storeroom where papers of different nature are shelved by the officials. After the incident, fire tenders reached the site to douse the fire. Around five fire fighting vehicles took part in the operation.

According to police, the fire erupted due to short-circuit, while no causality happened in the incident.

However, it is yet to be determined which papers were destroyed in the mishap.

In September 2.017, two people died, identified as Ali Raza and Umer, and five others were injured after a massive fire broke out at Awami Markaz in Islamabad’s Red Zone.

The fire started due to short-circuiting in an air-conditioning plant and almost engulfed the entire tower which is located on the Constitutional Avenue of the federal capital.

The record of a Rs50 billion project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), placed in the Federal Ombudsperson’s office, was also said to have been completely destroyed.
