LAHORE: A three-member Lahore High Court (LHC) bench on Monday extended stay against the new joint investigation team (JIT), probing the Model Town incident, till April 11.
The court directed the Advocate General Punjab to file a written reply in response to show cause notice.
The bench headed by Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan and comprising Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan and Justice Miss Aalia Neelum passed the orders while hearing petitions filed by former Punjab police inspector Rizwan Qadir and constable Khurram Rafiq, facing trial in the Model Town incident, challenging the new JIT.
On previous hearing, the bench suspended a notification for formation new joint investigation team (JIT) probing Model Town incident, by a two to one majority vote.
The bench also issued a show cause notice to the AGP after he lodged a protest over stay against the new JIT without hearing the stance of the Punjab government.
