TEHRAN: Pakistan team to visit Iran for finalizing Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline deal
Iran’s National Gas Exporting Company’s senior official claimed that Pakistan team will visit Iran soon to finalize Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline deal.
Iranian News Agency (IRNA) claimed that both countries agreed to finalize the project during Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani’s visit.
IRNA quoted “In the negotiations, it had been agreed that Pakistan’s delegation would visit Iran soon to finalize the agreements, so that the export of Iranian gas to Pakistan could be started.”
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh claimed that cooperation in energy sector with Pakistan will boost economic and cultural relations between two countries.
Melli Bank Iran is scheduled to open its branches in Pakistan soon while four Pakistani banks are eager to open their branches in Iran.
Pakistan will buy 21.5mcm/d of gas from Iran under a project of 1,800 km long pipeline which was launched in 2010.
The project was expected to complete in 2014 and Iran had completed its part of pipeline with a cost of US$2 billion but Pakistan has not completed yet.
