Pakistan Fatah II Rocket System likely to attract export order from friendly country

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s indigenously developed Fatah-II guided multiplelaunch rocket system has emerged as the star attraction at the ongoingEgypt International Defence Expo (EDEX) 2025, with friendly countriesexpressing interest in acquiring the advanced weapon platform.

Senior military delegations from several nations, including host Egypt, held detailed technical discussions with Pakistani officials at the GlobalIndustrial and Defence Company (GIDS) pavilion. The 600km-range Fatah-II,hits target with pinpoint accuracy, has reportedly triggered intense buyercompetition.

Egyptian military officials were observed spending considerable timeexamining the system’s guidance module and trajectory correction features, inquired about integration possibilities with their existing artillerynetworks.

The Fatah-II’s display comes at a time when regional powers are rapidlymodernising their rocket artillery capabilities. With its sub-20 metrecircular error probability and ability to evade missile defences throughmid-flight manoeuvres, the system directly challenges the dominance of moreexpensive Western and Russian alternatives currently in the market.

Pakistan’s successful live-fire demonstrations of the Fatah family inrecent years have significantly boosted international confidence in thecountry’s defence exports. Industry experts note that any sale to Egyptwould mark the first major Arab acquisition of a Pakistani strategic weaponsystem, potentially reshaping Middle Eastern military balances.

Defence analysts suggest that successful exports of the Fatah-II couldgenerate hundreds of millions in revenue while establishing Pakistan as acredible supplier of advanced guided munitions to both Muslim andnon-aligned nations.

The strong international response at EDEX 2025 underscores Pakistan’sgrowing technological prowess in precision strike capabilities andvalidates the country’s decade-long investment in indigenous missiledevelopment programmes.
