Caption Air Chief claims multiple Rafale, Su-30MKI downed in singleengagement
ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad BaberSidhu declared on Monday that the Pakistan Air Force has shot down severalof the Indian Air Force’s most advanced combat aircraft, including multipleDassault Rafale, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Mirage 2000, MiG-29 fighters and anunspecified number of unmanned combat aerial vehicles in what he describedas one of the fiercest beyond-visual-range battles ever recorded.
Addressing the passing-out parade of the 153rd Combat Commanders’ Courseand 102nd Air Defence Course at PAF Academy Asghar Khan in Risalpur, theair chief stated that the engagements left large swathes of Indian airspaceeffectively silent and demonstrated the complete technological and tacticalsuperiority of Pakistan’s airborne platforms and weapon systems.
“The Pakistan Air Force neutralised the enemy’s most modern assets in amatter of minutes,” Air Chief Marshal Sidhu told the gathering of newlycommissioned officers and airmen. He revealed that PAF fighters, employingindigenously integrated beyond-visual-range missiles and advancedelectronic warfare suites, successfully engaged and destroyed thehigh-value targets deep inside contested airspace while maintainingcomplete situational dominance.
The air chief emphasised that the decisive victories were achieved througha combination of superior training, real-time data fusion from airborneearly warning platforms, and the seamless integration of Chinese-originJ-10CE and JF-17 Block-III aircraft with PL-15E missiles that outranged andoutmanoeuvred every Indian countermeasure attempted during the clashes.
Eyewitness accounts from the border regions and radar tracks reportedlyconfirmed multiple fireballs and parachutes over Indian territory, thoughthe Ministry of Defence has yet to release official footage or tail numbersof the downed aircraft. The claims, if independently verified, wouldrepresent the single largest loss of fourth and fifth-generation combataircraft by any air force in a conventional conflict since the 1991 GulfWar.
Military analysts note that the destruction of even a single Rafale wouldmark a severe strategic setback for the Indian Air Force, which haspositioned the French twin-engine fighter as the cornerstone of its aerialdeterrence against both Pakistan and China. The simultaneous loss ofSu-30MKI heavy fighters and supporting assets would further degrade NewDelhi’s power-projection capability across the entire northern theatre.
The air chief concluded his address by warning that any future aggressionwould be met with an even more devastating response, stating thatPakistan’s skies remain inviolable and its retaliatory capability absolute.
