No group has yet claimed responsibility, but intelligence circles pointfingers at the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its localaffiliates who have intensified attacks on government officials andsecurity personnel since the collapse of peace talks last year.

Shah Wali, a dedicated officer of the provincial civil service, had earnedrespect for his fearless administrative work in one of the most challengingtribal districts.
