Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has decidedto slash the power tariff for industrial by Rs. Rs 4.96 per unit.

According to details, NEPRA has cut electricity tariffs for industrialsector and a notification has also been issued in this regard.

After the cut, industrial consumers of B1, B2, B3 and B4 category will beable to avail discounted rates. Electricity rates for industrial consumershave been reduced from Rs 12.96 to Rs. 8 per unit.

The discounted package for industrial customers is valid for eight monthsonly.

The reduction in electricity charges will be effective from November 1,2020 to June 30, 2021.

NEPRA has clarified that the discount package will be applied uniformly tothe industrial consumers of the whole country including Karachi.

Moreover, industrial consumers will get relief in terms of fuel priceadjustment
