Karachi – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held importantmeeting with Sri Lankan President, makes an offer from Pakidtani President.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with the newly elected Sri LankanPresident Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo on Monday.
During the meeting, the foreign minister discussed issues of mutualinterest, matter pertaining to regional peace and bilateral relations.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi felicitated Rajapksa on being elected as the seventhSri Lankan president.
On the occasion, Qureshi also handed over a letter of President Arif Alvito the Sri Lankan president inviting him to visit Pakistan.
The foreign minister expressed hope that under the leadership of GotabayaRajapaksa, the relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will strengthenfurther.
He also appreciated the people of Sri Lanka for valiantly fighting thescourge of terrorism.
The Sri Lankan president thanked the Pakistani leadership for extending himfelicitation on his election and inviting him to visit Pakistan.
Qureshi is on a two-day visit to Sri Lanka to discuss cordial relations andissues of mutual interest. On his arrival in Colombo on Monday, the foreignminister was received by Ambassador Selvaraj and other dignitaries.
Qureshi is also scheduled to meet Sri Lankan Prime Minister MahindaRajapaksa as part of his visit.
