Pakistan joins the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO Member States

ISLAMABAD – The two-day 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Governmentof SCO Member States concluded at Tashkent in Uzbekistan on Saturday.

Additional Secretary and National Coordinator SCO Zahoor Ahmed ledPakistan’s delegation in the meeting.

Addressing the event, he informed the participants about the Pakistan’s“Ehsas Programme” and stressed that poverty alleviation should be one ofthe core objectives of SCO in the economic realm.

Additional Secretary also highlighted the importance of China-PakistanEconomic Corridor, a flagship project under the transformative Chineseinitiative of Belt and Road Initiative.

He reiterated Pakistan’s support for efforts towards strengthening an open,inclusive, transparent, predictable, non-discriminatory, stable andrule-based multilateral trading system based on WTO rules and regulations.

Views were also exchanged on the emerging regional and global economicsituation and making joint efforts for economic integration, regionalconnectivity and peace and security.
