Pakistan economy suffers loss of Rs 150 billion in last 72 hours blockade

KARACHI – Pakistan’s economy suffered a loss of Rs150 billion in the last72 hours due to road blockades and severe agitation.

The economic activities across the country are at standstill for the lastthree days in wake of countrywide protests after the Supreme Courtacquitted Asia Bibi in the blasphemy case.

The protests being largely led by the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan party havespread uncertainty leading to the shutting down of business and tradeactivities across the country.

Business activities at the ports have also closed and the traders wouldhave to pay billions in damages.

Fuel shortage was also lingering across the country as the supplies havestopped for the last three days including Karachi and Lahore.
