Khadija Shah gets relief from Lahore High Court

A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench, presided over by Justice AliaNeelam, issued a conditional dismissal of the registrar’s objectionsregarding Khadija Shah’s bail plea on Monday. The court’s decision camewith an instruction to eliminate any objectionable documents from the bailapplication, ultimately leading to the dismissal of these objections.

The petitioner, represented by her lawyer, passionately argued that she hadbeen unjustly implicated in the incidents of the May 9 riots. Furthermore,she claimed that the Gulberg police station had wrongfully ensnared her inthe case, disregarding the actual facts surrounding her involvement.

Expressing her grievances, Khadija Shah maintained that the Anti-TerrorismCourt had unjustly denied her bail while overlooking critical aspects ofthe case. She conveyed this message through her legal counsel during theproceedings in the provincial apex court.

In a legal twist, the Lahore High Court, led by Justice Alia Neelam,rendered a conditional dismissal of the registrar’s objections on KhadijaShah’s bail request. This decision was accompanied by an explicit directiveto eliminate any contentious documents from the bail application,ultimately leading to the rejection of these objections.

The petitioner, speaking through her legal representative, asserted herinnocence, emphasizing that she had been wrongly implicated in the eventsof the May 9 riots. She went on to assert that the Gulberg police stationhad unlawfully entangled her in the case, disregarding the actual factssurrounding her involvement.
