ISLAMABAD – The supreme court of Pakistan on Tuesday has directed formermilitary ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf to submit his reply onwhether he would return to Pakistan or not, by October 11th.
According to private news channel report, while hearing a case regardingthe National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), the top court remarked thatthe former president would not be arrested until he appears before theSupreme Court.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar headed a three-member bench and it assuredthe counsel for Musharraf, Akhter Shah that Rangers would be deployed forsafeguarding the former president.
The chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar also observed that if Musharraf wassuffering from the ache in the back, he would be provided treatment inPakistan as well.
The court then adjourned the hearing till October 11.
