ISLAMABAD: *Federal government takes important decision over $6.6 billiondevelopment projects.*
The government will review the progress on the ongoing Asian DevelopmentBank-funded projects on a quarterly basis to expedite the implementation ofthe projects.
This was stated by Economic Affairs Minister Makhdum Khusro Bakhtiar whilechairing the tripartite wrap-up meeting on portfolio review of ADB-fundedprojects at the Ministry of Economic Affairs on Wednesday.
The volume of ADB-funded projects is $6.6 billion.
The minister appreciated the role of ADB in supporting the developmentagenda of Pakistan, underscoring the importance of efficient and effectiveplanning and execution of projects funded by ADB.
He also highlighted the role of the portfolio review sessions to survey thestatus of projects, identify the bottlenecks and set the targets toexpedite the implementation process. He directed the line departments togalvanize the ADB-funded projects.
The projects related to Power Division, Ministry of Communications,Ministry of National Health Services and Research, Ministry of ClimateChange, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and National Disaster RiskManagement Fund (NDRMF) were reviewed on the first day of the review.
