NEW DELHI – Irked India responds back to US President Donald Trump offerover Kashmir mediation.
Indian on Friday conveyed to the United States (US) that Kashmir remained abilateral issue between Islamabad and New Delhi and mediation on the topicwas neither welcome nor warranted.
The stance was conveyed by Minister of External Affairs of IndiaSubrahmanyam Jaishankar to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and is thesecond time New Delhi has rejected an offer of mediation by Washington.
US President Donald Trump had earlier also offered to mediate on theKashmir issue between the nuclear-armed rivals.
Taking to social media, Jaishankar conveyed to his American counterpartthat “any discussion on Kashmir, if at all warranted, will only be withPakistan and only bilaterally”.
