Multiple blasts rock Afghanistan capital Kabul

KABUL – Three IED blasts occurred in Kabul city early on Sunday morning asthe residents are about to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

The first blast targeted a bus carrying students of the educationuniversity and killed one shopkeeper and wounded at least 17 others, saidNusrat Rahimi, a spokesman for Ministry of Interior Affairs, TOLO News hasreported.

Rahimi said the first blast occurred in Silo Road in Kabul’s PD5 at around7:50am local time.

Rahimi said that two other blast also occurred in the same area and allthree blast were from magnetic IEDs.

Jawed Kargar, an Afghan journalist and five security forces, were amongthose wounded in the blasts, Rahimi said.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the blasts.
