SRINAGAR – Four paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) wereinjured on Saturday in three grenade attacks carried out by the militantsin last 24 hours.
The first grenade attack took place in Fateh Kadal area of old city inSrinagar.
Three CRPF troopers were injured in the first attack.
In less than three hours, militants carried out the second attack inBadshah Chowk area close to city centre Lal Chowk.
One CRPF trooper was injured in the second attack.
Third attack occurred minutes after the second attack. Militants hurled agrenade at another CRPF vehicle in Magarmal Bagh area of Srinagar.
Nobody was injured in the third attack.
Attacks have taken place in Srinagar city during the holy Muslim month ofRamadan when the security forces have instead intensified operationsagainst the militants in Kashmir.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmirfor two days next week.
Sources told IANS Singh will take stock of events since the ceasefireannouncement and also analyse the possibility of extending the ceasefire tothe forthcoming Amarnath Yatra.
